Re: STEALS AND DEAL!!!!

Cool man.

Hey, since you're a Ford tech, would you be the person to talk to about motors? I was thinking of doing a build. I did a few years ago with my pops, but that was years ago. I saw once where they took a motor from a 93 GT and put it in a 65 Mustang. I thought that'd be cool as hell.

I've got a 460 sitting in a garage that hasn't been touched in years. I wonder if it'd be worth anything.

Re: STEALS AND DEAL!!!!

LOL....going to spam the PC thread with motor talk....What is it going in?What year is the motor?A 460 can be punched/stroked to a 514 very easily.Just depends what you are going to do with it.They do make a conversion kit to drop it in a FOX Body Stang(79-93).
I have seen several conversions on the older stangs that have the powertrain donated from 87-93 stang and keep it fuel injected.Very easy to do.Just make sure you get the EEC harness and PCM(computer and it's harness). There is a company that makes a fuel pump that goes in the stock tank to allow EFI.I did a conversion on a 94 Ranger for a buddy of mine.I wired in the EEC harness so he could keep it EFI(347 STROKER)motor. It only needed a couple of hot all the times, key power and 2 grounds to get it working

BTW...when I try to link my avatar it gives me an error message:

Re: STEALS AND DEAL!!!!

What kind do I want? Fantasy car?

THIS!

I think of it as a very, very long term project to deal with when I move to the middle of nowhere East Texas. I think a 460/514 is a lot more motor than I need to have under my foot.

I used to go over to John's Mustang in Houston to oogle the cars. I'd like to find a project car. Do you have any good ideas on where to start with the motor? I was thinking of trying to find something pulled out of an 89-93 302 since that's what I'm most familiar with.

When I get home, I'll create us our on little sub forum so I can bother you with Mustang questions.

Re: STEALS AND DEAL!!!!

Cool..I always liked the old fastbacks.
What I want to do in the future,is obtain the newer body style(2005 up)and either put a Big Block in it or go with a V10 mod motor
It will be easy to get a roller body of the new style stang in a few more years as the maniacs will be blowing them up by then

Re: STEALS AND DEAL!!!!

I just put a new motherboard and processor in my machine. I now have an athlon 64 bit 3200+, 2 gigs of ram, and a 1 gig nvidia geforce 8500 gt video card.

It has improved my gaming a wee bit:

I got the mobo at www.newegg.com for around 80 bucks, includes processor and 1 gig of ram. The video card was at circuit city online for 80 bucks, too.

Can't wait to check out the slick deals on the link Ford Tech posted.

Re: STEALS AND DEAL!!!!

Henry, I just spent 89 dollars on a video card, 40 on a power supply and another 89 on a motherboard/cpu (amd 64 bit) that included a free gig of ram. Basically a new computer for under 250 dollars.

www.newegg.com

I've looked at tigerdirect and the others, and newegg always looks to have the best prices.

And I got them one at a time over period of time, rather than all at once, so I could afford to take the $ hit. ($ hit, get it? lol)
